At 1:22 of the second period, a turnover in the neutral zone by Marc-Edouard Vlasic led to a rush the other way with Philip Tomasino carrying the puck. He took a shot that got blocked by Vlasic but the puck bounced on to the tape of Mikael Granlund and he wristed a shot to the short side extending Nashville lead to 2-0.
