Sharks lose to Blackhawks 4-3 in shoot-out

The Sharks came back from behind three times to tie the game but lost 4-3 in shoot-out

It only took 1 NHL shift for David Gust to score his first NHL goal. At 2:14 in the 1st period, Colin Blackwell made a pass from behind the goal line to David on top of the paint and he redirected it in the net for a 1-0 lead. The Sharks bit right back. Just 2 minutes after Chicago scored, at 4:17, Jacob MacDonald took a shot on goal. Chicago’s Goalies Petr Mrazek made the initial save but the rebound ended up on the tape of Nick Bonino in the left circle and he wristed a shot in net and tied the game at 1. Just a minute later Brett Seney scored with a slap shot. Minutes later, Nico Sturm passed the puck from behind the goal line to Evgeny Svechnikov in the slot. Svechnikov scored with a one-timer shot to the far side and tied the game at 2.

Neither team scored in the second period. On the very first shift of the third period, Max Domi skated with the puck to the left circle and wristed a shot to the far side. In the final seconds of the game, with 6th man in, Erik Karlsson scored with a rocket of a slapshot from the top of the left circle to the far side. Neither team scored in the overtime but the Sharks lost 4-3 in shoot-out.
