The Sharks grounded the Jets in a 3-0 win at home ending their longest losing streak at 9

San Jose had a sluggish start to the game but quickly settled in. At 7:48, Jeffrey Viel drew a slashing penalty. Sharks were unable to capitalize on the power play but 3 seconds later, Jacob Peterson made a pass from behind the goal line to Noah Gregor on top of the paint and Gregor one-times a shot through the 5-hole.

Neither team scored in the 2nd period. At 2:23 into the 3rd period, Noah Gregor fought hard to keep the puck in the zone on top of the left circle and passed it to Nico Sturm on the right. Sturm took a shot on goal that got deflected by Kevin Labanc through the goalie’s 5-hole which put the Sharks up on a 2-0 lead. With just 2 minutes left in the game, while the Sharks were on power play, Tomas Hertl had the puck on the button of the right circle. Jets’ goalie came way out to challenge Hertl but he threaded the needle through some traffic onto the tape of Martin Kaut in the left circle. Kaut scored with a one timer shot into a wide open net to give the Sharks a 3-0 win over the Jets.
