San Jose Sharks lost 3-1 to Montreal Canadiens in a game of turnovers

At 1:43 of the first period, a turnover by Canadiens’ defender led to a wrister from the slot by Jacob MacDonald. This unassisted goal by MacDonald is his first as a Shark. For the next 46 minutes, neither team scored. San Jose had plenty on opportunities to score that go ahead goal but just could not seal the deal.

At 8:07 of the 3rd period, Kaiden Guhle capitalized with a shot from the slot that found its way to the net through some screen in the front. Before the fans could recover from the shock, a turnover by Erik Karlsson in the offensive zone led to a 2 on 0 breakaway. Jesse Ylonen scored on the breakaway and put Montreal on a 2-1 lead. In the final seconds of the game Christian Dvorak scored an empty net goal for a final score of 3-1 Canadiens.
