San Jose Sharks lost 3-1 against Pittsburgh Penguins in a hard fought game at home

The Sharks played a solid first period. However, at 5:56 of the first period, Rickard Rakell skated through the crease from the goalie’s right to his left. His skate made contact with Dell’s outside skate which pushed Dell out of position. That is when Rakell quickly capitalized and scored.

At 11:33 of the 2nd period, Sydney Crosby skated with the puck behind the net from the goalie’s left to right. Aaron Dell played true to Crosby and left the left post. Crosby drop-passed to Jake Guentzel on the left post for an easy tap-in goal.

Late in the 3rd period, Timo Meier, while on a rush, made a power move and got better body position on Penguins’ defender and then wristed a shot through the goalie’s 5-hole. Before the game was over, Jake Guentzel scored an empty net goal for a 3-1 victory over the Sharks.
