San Jose Sharks vs Seattle Kraken
Heartbreak continues with another 2-1 OT loss for San Jose Sharks in a tightly contended game against the Seattle Kraken
San Jose had a solid start to the game tonight. Evgeny Svechnikov took a hard hit later in the first and went to the locker room for evaluation. He did not return for the rest of the game. Seattle picked up some steam in the later part of the 2nd period but neither team scored in the 1st period or 2nd period.
At 1:18 of the 3rd period, William Eklund got a break-away but he was hooked by Jaden Schwartz. Eklund was awarded a penalty shot and he scored through the 5-hole. This is Eklund’s 1st penalty shot of his NHL career. That lead was short lived as at 7:03 of the 3rd period, Oliver Bjorkstrand got a clean break-away and he just roofed a wrister and tied the game at 1. Both teams exchanged some chances in the overtime but Vince Dunn took a shot from top of the right circle that trickled through Jamer Reimer’s 5-hole for a 2-1 OT win for Seattle.
