Location: SAP Center: 525 W Santa Clara St, San Jose, CA 95113

San Jose Sharks again started the game off little sluggish getting their first shot on goal after four and a half minutes of play against Anaheim Ducks. Sharks had a couple of defensive breakdown. Corey Perry made the Sharks pay by getting a breakaway on pass from Derek Grant and beating Martin Jones five-hole and the puck trickled in behind him, giving Ducks a 1-0 lead.
The first time that the Sharks had sustained pressure in the offensive zone was halfway through the second period with Chris Tierney’s line on ice. They had great scoring chances but none got passed Ryan Miller. Coach Peter DeBoer made some line adjustments by moving Joonas Donskoi to the top line to get the Sharks going but the second period ended with Ducks leading 1-0.
To add to the Sharks frustration, they took their first penalty of the game past halfway into the third period. Not only that the Sharks killed the penalty, they also got a two on one with Joel Ward and Barclay Goodrow as the penalty expired. Ward passed to Goodrow for a shot which was blocked by Miller but Ward scored on the rebound and tied the game 1-1.
The Sharks got few more scoring opportunities but the game remained tied and eventually went into shoot-out. Sharks Captain, Joe Pavelski and Joonas Donskoi both scored in the shootout, giving the Sharks their fourth straight win.
Final score 2-1 Sharks win.
Tonight the Sharks led in shots (45-26), face-offs (53%-47%) and blocked shots (19-17) while the Ducks led in hits (38-21) and giveaways (19-16)
