Sharks End Their Loosing Streak with 4-3 OT Win Over Golden Knights

Sharks again gave up an early goal in the game. Just four minutes into the game, Jonathan Marchessault passed the puck from behind the Sharks’ net to William Karlsson low in the slot for a one-timer shot that ended in the Sharks’ net. It didn’t take long for the Sharks to settle in and pick up the physicality and intensity of their game.

At the start of the second period, Tomas Hertl collected a rebound on the inside of the right circle from Joonas Donskoi’s shot. He deked the goalie into splits and slid it in the net through his legs and tied the game at 1. Just over four minutes later, a rebound from a shot ended up on Cody Eakin’s stick to the left of Martin Jones. He tapped it into the net and took a 2-1 lead for Vegas.

Seven minutes into the third period, Tomas Hertl stick handled the puck through couple of Vegas defenders and crashed the net. He could not get a shot off but threw the puck back. After bouncing off couple of players, the puck ended up with Evander Kane and he shot it far side and tied the game at 2. Four minutes later, Logan Couture won the face off in the left circle to
Marc-Edouardo Vlasic on top of the left circle. Vlasic rocked a slap shot in the far top corner of the net and gave the Sharks their first lead of the game at 3-2. This lead only lasted forty seconds as exact scenario played out but on the opposite side this time. William Karlsson won the face off in the left circle to Shea Theodore and he rocked a shot in the far top corner of the Sharks net and tied the game at 3. In the last minute of the game, Evander Kane drew a penalty. Sharks did not score in the period so the game headed into overtime.

Just seconds into the overtime, Kevin Labanc won the battle on the right boards and passed the puck back to Logan Couture. Couture passed it to Brent Burns on top of the left circle and he unloaded a bomb straight in the net.

Sharks Tonight the Sharks led in shots (34-26) and takeaways (8-7) while the Golden Knights led in face-offs (53%-47%), blocked shots (13-9) and giveaways (10-18). Both teams tied in hits at 40.
