“Mrs. Homemaker” Press Release
‘Homemaker’ – What does this word conjure up in our minds? A housewife? A person who manages the ‘home’and ‘keeps’ it running? A person who makes a house a home for the entire family, where everyone can be nurtured, rejuvenated and have roots?
Yes, a homemaker is all of the above. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we are creating a platform to honor all our wives and mothers. A homemaker is not just a housewife. She could be one or she may have an active career.
She is a nurturer, a cook, nutritionist, first-aid provider, a wife, mother, daughter-in-law, a teacher, coach, therapist and mentor for her kids, a career woman, an interior designer, a handywoman around the house, a financial planner and investor, a major influencer in all purchases that the family makes and, in short, the engine that keeps the home running. Above all, she is an individual in her own right, beautiful inside and out, with her own distinctive personality and opinions, multiple talents and ambitions and deep desires and dreams.
We can all relate to the above when we think of our own mothers, grandmothers and aunts. In the past, women did not work outside the home and the tremendous work that they did inside often went unappreciated. Today, most women are empowered, well educated and gainfully employed. Nevertheless, their roles in their homes and families remain paramount.
As someone once rightly said, “The family is the cornerstone of civilization”.
India Post, in collaboration with its partner, Phoenix Duo Matrix, is coming up with a unique contest to celebrate and honor womanhood in all its glory. “Mrs. Homemaker 2017” is the first of its kind in the United States. We believe that “a home is known by the woman who keeps it.”
This is a fun, multiple-round contest with prizes and the participation of the whole family. The first two days of the contest will be held on the weekend of March 25 and 26, 2017, at the Fremont Hindu Temple.
The grand finale will be held at the Louis B. Mayer Theater in Santa Clara University on Sunday, 2 April 2017.
On Day 1 and 2 (March 25 and 26, 2017), we will have the Preliminary Interview Round, the Personal Interaction Round, and sub-contest rounds such as “Mrs. Talented”, “Mrs. Financial Planner”, “Mrs. Holiday Planner” and the Family Interaction Round (for the titles of “Best Wife”, “Best Mother” and “Best Daughter-in-law”). By the end of Day 2, we will have 25 participants shortlisted.
We are planning an intermediate cooking/meal preparation competition on 1 April 2017 to crown “Mrs. Kitchen Queen”, along with the “Best in Home Keeping” round.
On the grand finale day – 2 April 2017, we will crown “Mrs. Popular Choice”, “Mrs. Congeniality” and finally, “Mrs. Homemaker 2017 – California, USA”.
India Post’s Founder, Dr. Romesh Japra says that there are many beauty pageants, but this is something much more, a celebration of womanhood as a whole.
So, come join us for this fun fiesta! All married/divorced/widowed women 21 years or older who are residents of California, are welcome, regardless of race, nationality or ethnicity.
We heartily welcome our friends in the media to attend this event and request you all to get the word out.
