Japanese Foreign Minister meets India’s Modi in New Delhi

Kono who is on his maiden visit to India, also met his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj earlier in the day and held delegation level talks discussing on improving bilateral ties between the two nations.

Indian Foreign Ministry’s official spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar tweeted, “Deep rooted ties blossoming into a special strategic and global partnership. Japanese Foreign Minister @konotaromp is warmly welcomed by EAM @SushmaSwaraj ahead of the 10th #IndiaJapan Strategic Dialogue. EAM had visited Japan in March 2018 for the last edition.”

Kumar added that both the leaders focused on enriching cooperation across entire spectrum of the relationship between the nations. He added that the leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues.

Kono is on a three-day visit to India and will also be attending the India Japan Friendship Forum on January 8 (Tuesday).
