Indian PM Modi meets Swiss President in Davos
STORY: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Swiss President Alain Berset in Davos on Monday (January 22) on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to ‘review the scope of bilateral cooperation and deepen it further’.
Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to attend the WEF in 21 years.
CEO of India’s policy think-tank NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant, said Modi was coming to WEF to tell the remarkable story of India’s growth.
Modi will deliver the keynote address at the plenary session of the WEF on Tuesday (January 23). He will also meet the heads and top officials of about 60 companies including the likes of Airbus, Hitachi, IBM, BAE Systems and the Carlyle Group.
