Indian foreign minister lands in Bangkok; holds talks with Thai counterpart

STORY: Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj met her Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai in Bangkok city on Thursday (January 04) to boost bilateral ties.

Swaraj is on multi-nation tour of three ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) countries including Indonesia and Singapore.

“EAM @SushmaSwaraj discussed issues of connectivity, security and cultural cooperation with Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Foreign Minister of Thailand. #ActEastPolicy,” tweeted Indian foreign ministry spokesman, Raveesh Kumar.

India and Thailand share close bilateral ties. Thailand is India’s fourth largest trading partner after Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. Both countries are important regional partners linking South and Southeast Asia.
