Article:
Diwali is known as the Festival of Lights and it is held in honor of Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Sikhs, celebrate Diwali but not Eid. It’s not because Diwali is a Hindu festival, but because there is a Sikh history associated with it. On this day, the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib ji, come out of the Gwalior prison of the Mughal emperor, along with 52 Hindu kings.

Hindus interpret the Diwali story based upon where they live. In Northern India they celebrate the story of King Rama’s return to Ayodhya after he defeated Ravana by lighting rows of clay lamps. In Southern India they celebrate as the day that Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura.
