STORY: Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama concluded a four-day teaching session on Friday (October 06) in the north Indian hill town of Dharamsala.
The session was based on the teachings of Buddhist scholar, Chandrakirti ‘Entering into the Middle Way’ and held at the main Tibetan temple, Tsuglagkhang.
Hundreds of monks and disciples of the Dalai Lama attended the session.
A Chinese disciple, Wang Yanfen, said she felt empowered after the Dalai Lama’s session. She also prayed for Dalai Lama’s long life.
The Dalai Lama, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, fled into exile in India in 1959 from Lhasa after an abortive uprising against Chinese rule.
The maroon-robed prelate has since lived mostly in Dharamsala in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, where his supporters run a small government in exile and advocate for autonomy for Tibet by peaceful means.
