The Sharks opened up the scoring tonight. Marc-Edouard Vlasic took a shot from high in the slot which got blocked. Just five minutes later, the Blue Jackets tied the score. Goalie, Aaron Dell got caught far out of the crease to the right of the net and that is when Anthony Duclair beat him with the wrap around from behind the net.
In the middle of the second period, Seth Jones and Anthony Duclair got a two on one with the Duclair rushing down the left side. He passed the puck to Jones in the slot and the puck bounced off of Jones skate and into the net giving Columbus a 2-1 lead. Before the period was over, a bad pass from Erik Karlsson to Vlasic ended up in a breakaway for Nick Foligno and he beat Dell with a backhand shot. The Blue Jackets had widened the lead to 3-1.
