STORY: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and main opposition Congress party leadersheld rallies on Tuesday (April 16) in different parts of the country to woo voters and gather support ahead of the second phase of polls.
Addressing a rally in India’s central Korba city, Modi blamed the Congress party for deceiving people by not being clear in their intentions as well as with their schemes. President of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also held a road show in southern Tumakuru city where he was welcomed with flowers as a huge crowd gathered to show their support to the party.
The second phase of election is scheduled to be held on Thursday (April 18) where over 1, 500 candidates are in the fray and they would be contesting in 97 constituencies.
The general election in India is being held in seven phases until May 19 and votes will be counted on May 23.
