Earlier, the Bollywood stalwart had impressed the audience with the prequel “Bhoothnath” but in the sequel he is on a mission. He said during the news conference on Tuesday(February25) that both the films are different and the new film is entirely a new concept and even more hilarious and funny than the previous one.
“ In the previous film he goes to heaven (friendly ghost played by Bachchan). When he goes back everybody is laughing as you saw in the scene. They are laughing because they are saying that you could not even scare a child. Now he wants to prove that it is not true so he is asking them to send him back. But there is a long queue of people who want to be reincarnated. Finally he comes down and he meets the boy as he is the only one who can see him,” said Bachchan.
Meanwhile, while releasing the much awaited trailer of the film, he spoke in detail about his character and how he fights with an evil yet funny politician played by Bollywood actor, Boman Irani and wins the election. This time around, too, he has the company of a naughty and young boy. Together, both of them dance, party and fight the goons.
The film stars Bachchan, Boman Irani and Marathi actress Usha Jadhav in the lead,
The director of the film, Nitesh Tiwari, said he never felt as if it were his second directorial venture and that he was working with the superstars of the Bollywood industry.
“ In both the films (“Bhoothnath Returns” and “Chillar Party”), the soul is the same, the kid happens to be the protagonist, that is the only thing which is scary in the film otherwise there are lot of things in the film that the children can take back home. The journey was truly a very rewarding one, to be very honest, I worked with a lot of kids, almost not so known faces in “Chillar Party”. I never felt that I was dealing with such big names. Hats off to them for making me really comfortable. This is my second directorial venture, I was very made to feel at home from everybody from my producers to my superstars,” said Tiwari.
Reportedly, the film is a subtle, crititical take at our political system and politicians.
Apart from Irani and Bachchan, Bollywood heartthrob, Ranbir Kapoor will also make a special appearance in the film.
Reportedly Shahrukh Khan, who was in the prequel will be seen in the sequel as well.
The film is scheduled to release on April 11.
